The myths and legends of ghosts in Southeast Asia are dominated by female figures. The story is always the same. These female ghosts always take revenge on those who have wronged her, usually because of sexual violence, rape, and murder. This myth was formed as an effort to correct injustice in the traditional society which has many obstacles for women.
