Ma’nene is a traditional ritual in Toraja Culture. This ritual is a form of respect for their ancestors who have died. A corpse that is tens of years old even hundreds of years ago removed from the grave to be cleaned and changed clothes and cloth.
The Toraja people perform the Ma’nene ritual once every three years, more precisely in August. People believe that if the Ma’nene ritual is not carried out before the harvest, it will cause disaster in their fields.
